Instructions
0 Preheat the oven to 350 F Streusel 3 In a medium sized bowl, combine the flour and sugar, and whisk together. 4 Then add the softened butter in chunks, followed by the vanilla extract. Rub the butter and vanilla into the dry ingredients by hand until there are no dry bits remaining. Toppings 7 Chop the crystalized ginger into tiny pieces - between 1/4" and 1/8" thick. 8 Then, rinse the blackberries and set aside to drain. Dough 11 Combine flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and granulated ginger in the bowl of a stand mixer and whisk to combine. Then add in the milk, oil, egg, quark, and vanilla extract. 12 Knead on medium speed until all ingredients are fully combined. Using a rubber spatula, spread the dough in an even layer across a lightly greased, 9x13 metal pan. Assembling & Baking 15 Top the dough with an even layer of blackberries, followed by the chopped, crystalized ginger. 16 Then layer on the streusel. 17 Bake the bars for 45-50 min until golden brown. Once they are finished baking, remove the pan on the oven and place it on a wire rack to cool. Do not cut or serve until fully cooled.View original recipe
